Kick ass!! He indeed wields the Blade of Evil's Bane. Wonder what it reads on the crossguard... maybe some enchantments or somethin. Anyone out there who understands 'Hylian'?

well well welll the master sowrd is here being confirmed

I don't think anyone has noticed this, because I haven't heard it from anyone, but don't you think Link looks well, older in this pic, he looks like he's a good few years older. So I was thinking that he might grow physically throughout the game. Someone even said that in an interview that Link would grow throughout the game, so this pic looks like more proof of him physically getting older throughout the game. Just a thought I guess, but that would be cool!

I THOUGHT SO TOO! Link's sideburns appear to be longer, and he has a more aged look and battle hardened expression. He also seems to look wolfish. The Hylian script probably is some sort of prophecy or just says "Master Sword" or "Evil's Bane" or something like that.

Very interesting that this artwork makes Link look older. He's probably picked up a lot of experience in sword fighting by the time he gets the Master Sword. Speaking of which the MS looks ever so slightly different too...its appearance (and Epona) could suggest this is the 'Hero of Time' from OoT/MM perhaps?
aquawolf  [May 12, 2006 at 06:28 PM]
Nah, I don't think so, as I read (on IGN, I think it was) that Nintendo announced that TP is set "chronologically decades after OoT, but before TWW". So unless Hylians have incredible longevity- which is always possible- I don't think it's OoT Link. Perhaps his grandson or something like that?^^
TKB  [May 12, 2006 at 11:22 PM]
It would be cool if the current Link is the descendant of the Hero of Time, that would explain the similarities with the clothing and indeed the Hylian Shield.
But if this guy really is the direct descendant of the Hero of Time, then how can we explain this guy's link (no pun intended) between himself and the kid in WW.
And BTW, I don't perceive him to be any much older in this pic than in any other...U guys must be seeing things. He does, however, look more determined and experienced. He may get the Master Sword halfway through the game, meaning after many trials and battles. So he might get it a few months (game time) into his adventure. A few months can be a long time. So if his hair seems longer, than it's had enough time to grow an inch or two. And his determination...you people try to wade through blood and war for a few months, then we'll see your thousand-yard-stare.

I like the fine gold details on the blade of the MS. I want twilight princess soooooooooo bad!
Mary_Link  [May 15, 2006 at 06:53 PM]
aquawolf: I've read differently about the chronological setting of TP. I heard it comes after TWW. That, and there's strong reason to believe that Hyrule was flooded after OoT.

I think the angle of the face exagerrates (sp?) the length of the hair.
.Zelda.  [May 15, 2006 at 07:02 PM]
well that is not true. TP takes place somewhere between Oot and Tww

And about his hair, I have to Agree with Mary_Link
silver_fang09  [May 16, 2006 at 03:37 AM]
So the Master Sword makes a return I like it's new look. I don't know what to think about him. He DOES look older and his hair looks a tad longer.
Melora  [May 16, 2006 at 10:47 PM]
The changes you're noticing are probably just due to the artist, looser styles don't always have perfect constancy behind them... Art is a really imperfect thing. That being said, it would be cool if he aged slightly or got a little more grizzled as the game progressed X3
TaliaArt  [Jun 16, 2006 at 12:58 AM]
I haven't seen this picture before....looks cool. I didn't even think that he would ever use the master sword again. I thought Hyrule was flooded.
TheLastSword  [Jul 11, 2006 at 05:10 AM]
Yes it was flooded, but as we have been discussing this game takes place between OoT and WW, therefore we have not reached the flooding time.

Ooooo! Master Sword's back!! Huh, makes me wonder. Will the Ocarina of Time be used in this game? Because this IS after OoT and between WW. And this might help explain why the Master Sword's in Hyrule Castle during WW. Link does look older. ^^
picori_girl  [Aug 25, 2006 at 04:12 PM]
of course he looks older! he's a total hot stud!
TKB  [Sep 21, 2006 at 10:22 PM]
It most certainly does not. TWW is centuries after OoT, TP only ~100y.
silver_fang09  [Nov 15, 2006 at 08:25 PM]
People, TP takes place AFTER OoT, but BEFORE TWW...by like a couple hundred years!
LZM  [Jan 01, 2007 at 09:12 AM]
TP takes place after OoT thats it!!! lol
TKB  [Jan 02, 2007 at 01:49 AM]
At LEAST a "couple" of hundred years.
