Whatcha people think? Could these guys be a part of a traveling troupe that goes where-ever Link goes (GOD, I hope not) giving him a tip or two, or perhaps a plot-important part of the castle town?
Perhaps these people serve the role of the gossip stones (or the manfish) or tingle. If these guys are indeed a part of a traveling troupe, then they simply have to hear a rumor or two around the realm.
Oh, Lord(i)! I can imagine these guys demanding Link performaning with them as reward for hints, or (even worse) giving their hints as a part of their no doubt weird performance.

remember that wiered dance in Majoras Mask that Link did when you put the dance guys mask on him. I bet these guys will be funnier and creepeir than watching Link dance like a girl.

Tingle was disturbing from the moment he entered the zelda universe. I hate to think of what will happen if these guys keep on popping up in later games...

maybe they're replacements for the two talking guys from the market in OoT, or the jugglers from Majora's mask(same guys). I could really see them juggling.

[edit]And I don't think these two will replace them twins. The twins were minor roles in the story. the fact these two are displayed in pre-release art means they are more important than that. Like I said, these guys just HAVE to be the replacement for the gossip stone -niche.

Maybe these guys are like Talon and Ingo. Talon and Ingo were based on the character designs of Mario and Luigi, and there is a Banzai Bill on one of their outfits. Much like how Talon,Ingo,and Malon have the Bowser pendant.

When I first saw this artwork, the first thing that went through my head was "Well that's TP screwed".
