great attention to detail, good use of halves and thirds. feels like we ought to have melodic music playing and the view sweeping past link over the vallery (wow i'm spending to much time in flash...)

Wow, this is very beautiful indeed! The waterfall mist effect is very realistic, what tool did you use?
Magalink  [Jan 29, 2005 at 12:09 AM]
MY GOD!!! This is...... i have no words to describe how good this is!!!
dudeofrandomness  [Feb 01, 2005 at 05:28 PM]
*punches Magalink (even though she's a girl)* But yes, very good. Good detail, I really like the water and the tree.
Koroks Rock  [Feb 03, 2005 at 02:24 AM]
why would you do that, dude? i thought the response was perfectly appropriate...
dudeofrandomness  [Feb 03, 2005 at 07:02 PM]
*explanation* I don't like it when people take the Lord's name in vain. I would appreciate it if you guys would be more careful with your use of it. No hard feelings, ML? It is a very awesome pic, just find a different way to say it
Koroks Rock  [Feb 03, 2005 at 08:46 PM]
Perhaps magalink's god is different from your own. I doubt any of you have the religious conceptions that I do, for example. All the same, water on oil, it doesn't matter, let's move on.
Iron~knuckle  [Feb 09, 2005 at 03:22 AM]
wow look at you all go over one word ( I'm not sayind it's ok to do but...) It's kida funy though... Oh and Awesome picture and correct me if i am wrong, but is that Hyrule Castle on the mountain?
Ingie  [Feb 09, 2005 at 04:39 AM]
Actually, I admire dudeofrandomness for standing up against it, not many people are able to do that. It also bothers me that people have used the words so much that they've become an everyday expression. *sigh* Anyways, I've seen this picture on another site before and I'm still amazed by the detail and sheer beauty of it. Awesome, awesome job!
dudeofrandomness  [Feb 09, 2005 at 03:55 PM]
*Whoa* sorry about getting the commets on a tangent SG. So, what exactly was done in Photoshop and what was in pencil? I'm guessing the water was Photoshopped? Really, really great job. Awesome detail.

Thanks for the comments Everthing was drawn with pencil except for the sun, clouds and waterfall mist. Oh, and the leaves flying around. The waterfall mist was done with one of the natural brushes with a number of different settings applied in the brush pallet, then I coppied the layer a few times and changed blend modes and messed with blurs. I'll see if I can put up a link to the origianl pencil drawing when I get home, for comparisons.

*gasp* that water was done by hand, then? Beautiful shades of blue. It's really stunning.

i wonder if zelda's engines will ever support vistas like this? they tried in minish cap with the beanstalks and all, but it didn't work so great. not in 2D anyways.
