creation_of_hyrule_part_1.swfThe Creation of Hyrule560 viewsTHIS IS NOT THE FULL THING!!!!!
I wouldn't even recommend watching this at all. The full version is almost 4MB, so it
didn't fit on this site. NEW SITE:
http://www.angelfire.com/yt3/twilight_realm/c_o_h.html (there's a link below) to see it
(be patient, it's a big file), then come back and comment (please comment!).
Note that I made that site just for this file, there's nothing else on it. If it doesn't
work, that's because too many people have seen it and I've exceeded the data
transfer limit.
Now go, watch it,
and then finish reading this description (if you want to). Go. Now.

I realize that the lightning didn't work out like it should have. I think I'm going to add
sounds, including thunder, to it. eventually.
Also, I know it's
jerky, especially when the camera jerks before the sun moves. And the rest is just too
sudden.
But overall, I think this is my masterpiece (which, you could argue, isn't saying much....)
and I'm really happy with how it came out.
I used Terragen (obviously), Irfanview for renaming and JPEGing, MX Flash 8 for converting
it to Flash, and... that's it. BTW, KR, the code didn't work.
Ignorethis...

death mountain stereo.JPG
death mountain stereo.JPG3D Death Mountain231 viewsI think these are called stereoscopic images... so, like the other one, cross your eyes so the two images overlap. look at the middle picture. it's 3D. kinda like... whatsitcalled... magic eye? yeah.... but cross your eyes, not relax them. yes, it's sorta big, so it might be hard. if you have trouble, back up a bit from the screen.6 commentsthe_ocarina_of_time

death mountain stereo2.jpg3D Death Mountain228 viewsok, i shrunk this, at least it fits on the screen now, but it's still sorta big. it won't fit on your screen unless your resolution is 1024x768. so here is the description copied and pasted from the first, for those who didn't see it:

Death_valley.jpg
Death_valley.jpgDeath mountains300 viewsMore like Death Valley.
Ok, I'll make this quick. It all started a few months ago when i saw my old death valley pics (the ones that looked like the volcano in Mario 64; they've been deleted now for being bmps), and noticed that someone (RICKY, maybe?) kept suggesting that i add a "glow" to them. I had just learned how to do that, so i started changing some stuff, and after a few hours had something like this. About a month later i came back, made some changes, and went back to school. a couple weeks after that, i wrote a few scripts, and my comp worked on rendering a movie of this for 4-5 days (really). it was 26 MB, i got it down to 6MB, but my trial period for flash ended (KR: Help!!!). anyway, i took one of about 450 frames, converted it to jpeg, stuck it as my wallpaper, and uploaded it.
Yeah, it's Death Valley. That's lava in the bottom. I've gotten better at mist and sunbeams, as you should notice. enjoy. and, of course, COMMENT!!!!

hyrule.swf
hyrule.swfhyrule (castle?) sunset436 viewswell, this is an animation of my hyrule castle pic. except there is no hyrule castle. and for
a good reason, too: the castle was put in by paint, and took about 10-20 minutes, and
doing that for 66 separate frames would be..... stupid.
once i completed this, i was about to upload it, and realized it went too fast. so, i made a new frame to stick in between every frame i had, and now it's slow. and now it looks good. I had a lot of problems making this. maybe a third of the pictures had the wrong ground covering, and i had to redo them. and then i hit some naming problems, which were the result of, and resulted in, renaming each frame 2-3 times, and converting each and every one to a jpeg. believe me, renaming 66 frames that many times is NOT FUN!!! but music helps. i spent a lot of that time listening to dte's "beat of the dragon," thanks a lot for making it, it saved my life.
ok, enough complaining. i personally like the sunlight on water and the sunbeams in the air. COMMENT!!

islands_bg.jpg
islands_bg.jpgZunari's Homeland1208 viewsI'm just taking a break from modelling for now, and am playing around with a program called terragen. It's chief use is making skyboxes, but it can also be useful for artistic wallpapers like this.

The idea was to make a group of islands that would resemble Zunari's (the shop guy in WW) homeland, which is supposed to be all cold and snowy. Originally I had it much, much more snowy, but I decided it wasn't very visually engaging, so I severely turned down the snow and added plenty of rock and a little grass. In retrospect I wish I had kept more of the snow. Oh well.

I don't even want to know how many quadrilaterals this had, it took my computer 11 minutes to render.

snowy hills.JPG
snowy hills.JPGsnowy hills284 viewsVIEW THIS FULL-SIZE!!!! it looks way better.
ok, this is based off of two things: los's article thingy about the clouds, and the new screenshot of the snow. I've been restraining myself with difficulty from sticking snow in every one of my pictures, because snow makes stuff look good. and now, i have a reason to put it in! yay!!!
you may notice i did the bluish tint. in the screen, it was more of streaks than dots, but i can't do that, so oh well.
i know that hyrule field is a field, but i think it would be awesome to ride epona up and down little hills, like these.
this was simple to make, but i like how it came out. it looks... big.

snowy.jpgA bit of Terragen455 viewsEh. I'm getting that hunger for really epic landscapes again, now that I've read l-o-s' post on the landscape designer for TP. Being something of a mapper myself, i know the desire to make massive, amazing landscapes altogether to well. It's the kind of endeavor not many get to fullfil, except in programs like Terragen.

This picture also enjoys the role of being the top banner for my website, Cube Legends. Cube Legends, for the newcomers to this gallery, is a game Mod that i started over a year ago, orignally about Zelda, but now it's branched off into a different direction.

sunset.gifTwilight Princess Sunset467 viewsthis is an animation of 40 pictures like the one i did before. for anyone who didn't see the other one, this is the sun in the trailers for tp setting. yes, i know it's huge. both the sun and the filesize. And it still goes faster than I wanted it to. and the lighting of the clouds changes sorta abruptly, but that's terragen's fault, not mine26 commentsthe_ocarina_of_time
test2.swf
test2.swfgerudo valley test389 viewsthis is my current gerudo valley. i've still got a lot to improve, and some suggestions
would really help. there's a part in the beginning where it gets really confusing, i know
that needs to be fixed. what's happening is the camera zooms at the ground and then
goes back up again. and the part where the sky gets black needs to be fixed too. ........................................................................
so any other suggestions? please?

the calm before....JPG
the calm before....JPGThe Calm Before...291 viewsanyone who's seen the trailers of twilight princess has noticed that the weather sorta varies a bit. there are a lot of storms, and i've noticed cloud shadows, which gave me the idea for this. i also got some inspiration from the incredibly green light that was outside my window while doing this. so, here is some (somewhat) realistic weather i hope to see--tell me if it's overdone, especially the greenness. and yes, it's snowy. for one thing, i'd like to see snow in tp, and for another, the lighting just didn't show up on grass.8 commentsthe_ocarina_of_time
the calm before.gif
the calm before.gifThe Calm Before...384 viewswell, here's my second landscape animation. for info on how this actually relates to zelda, check the first one. this actually looks a lot like the tp weather, with the moving clouds and the cloud shadows. this is actually another sunset (you can see part of the sun on the--hold on--the right side). and the clouds aren't actually moving, it's just the light changing...i'll try to use that again later. this one was only 27 pictures, so it was less miserable to make than the last one, but i had to do it twice, because the first was over the size limit.6 commentsthe_ocarina_of_time
twilight realm 4.jpg
twilight realm 4.jpgWeirdness aka the twilight realm294 viewsso, when i was just messing around with making moon-lit lakes, i encountered a glitch. i'm not sure which one it was. so i built on it.
i took full advantage of the glitches in terragen for this pic. it came out weird. it's like those weird portals in the 3rd trailer. weird. so it's like, the twilight realm in the demented, sleep-deprived mind of me.
it's also symbolic in some ways. it could be night, or it could be day, or maybe.... twilight? .......ok fine, that's the only symbolism. unless you count the mist looking like the 3rd bowser's attack in mario 64.......

waves&mountains.JPGHyrule field260 viewsyes, hyrule field. I know it's not really much like a field. am i the only one who gets bored with hyrule field being just a plain boring field? lakes, mountains--i can only hope.6 commentsthe_ocarina_of_time
WW sunset~1.jpg
WW sunset~1.jpgWind Waker Sunset260 viewsWow, it's been awhile since I've done anything on this site. With school, I have so little time. (did you notice i'm now capitalizing? it's a habit now)
Actually, I've had this picture for at least a month. But I wasn't quite sure what to do with the water. I eventually made at least 10 different versions (each one had 700,000 polygons), waited a week or two, and then just picked the first one i had done.
This was actually (partially) inspired by lord-of-shadow's article about the clouds. Yes, that one several months ago. I tried to do a stunning sky in a Wind Waker environment. I think I succeeded.

zoomy field.JPG
zoomy field.JPGzoomy hyrule field419 viewswow, it's been a long time since i did anything on this site. i've been occupied by a bunch of random things (to borrow the dudes' language). vacation, sleepyness, new hp book (though that only took two days)...yeah, i've been doing a lot of stuff.
so anyway, the picture. just an interesting effect i discovered on terragen (for those who are interested, i just zoomed out). so, it's supposed to be hyrule field, but cool and zoomy, maybe because link's riding a horse fast? anyway, i based it off of the direct-feed videos i got from ign.com, the horse battle. i included the river (actually, lake) to be more like it.
the picture is 800x600 for a reason. you don't really get the feel with the preview, you should view it full-size.
