Chapter 2: Because selling milk is also important.

Chapter Two

“I say.” Irving said, slipping an arm around Malon’s waist and pulling her close to his side. “Look at that boy; Imagine wearing a tunic in this day of age.”

“Huh?” Malon said. “Oh, him. That’s Link. He’s the princess Zelda’s friend.”

“But why a tunic?” Irving asked again. Malon rolled her eyes. Dashing though he was, he was admittedly not the brightest person in the world.

“I’ve heard he comes from a pretty poor family. His parents are dead and he lives with his grandfather, who works as a sword smith. But that’s not a great business to be in right now. Since peace was restored and the monsters driven back, nobody really needs any weapons.”

Irving’s brow furrowed. “You speak as though this was recent.”

“Well, it was. Vaati invaded the land and was defeated by a hero.”

“So if it was this recent, surely the hero should still be around?”

“Yes. But I don’t know who it is.” Malon did, of course, know full well who the hero was, but she didn’t have the heart to tell him that the young man he had just insulted was the hero whose name was spoke with honour all over the land. Besides, she felt it was to early in the morning to bash someone’s ego so severely.

“Are you finished selling your milk now?” Irving sighed impatiently.

Malon looked from her cart to the market. Most people were interested in the bigger, more exiting stalls anyway.

“Sure.” She said sighing. “Sure.”

“Great!” Irving exclaimed, jumping up. “Lets get going!”

“Give me a minute.” Malon muttered. She could see Link disappearing into the crowd. “I just got to take Epona home, then we’ll go.”

“Okay...” He mumbled, looking slightly downtrodden. “I suppose I can wait…”

“Fine, fine, we’ll go.” Malon snapped. She hated being manipulated like that, but it was easier than being constantly reminded about, ‘That time where Malon wouldn’t even go for a walk with him.’

Malon was very bored as she walked through South Hyrule Field. So far, Irving had recounted every monster he had fought in the past few weeks, and what he had used, and so on. It happened to be, despite popular belief, a very boring story, full of over dramatization and loopholes that made the rest of it incredibly boring.

Malon sighed yet again. She shielded her eyes with her hand and stole a quick glance at the sun. It looked to be about noonish.

“I have to go.” She said quickly. “The milk’ll be heating up.”

CheeseOfTomorrow, if your not going to make another chapter, can you at least tell us?!?

CheeseOfTomorrow says:

Okay, my homelife is very mucky at the moment, 'kay? I'm going through my prelims, so when I'm not studying or sleeping, I'm at a friends house, enduring hours of making study timetables that I'm never going to use anyway. Also, I go to band for all afternoon mondays and fridays, and my parents are going through a split.

It's just hard to get it all done. I have the next chapter half finished - Just a little while longer, okay?
