Chapter 1: A New Partner

In the land of Hyrule, there is a forest called Kokiri. In Kokiri Forest. stood a wise tree called the Great Deku Tree. The Great Deku Tree brought peace to the children of the forest, and also protection from afar.

The children of the forest were called Kokiri. The Kokiri never grew up. At a certain time, a Kokiri kid would receive his or her own fairy, to advise and watch over them.

But there is one Kokiri that didn't have his own fairy. His name was Link.

Link had golden blonde hair, blue eyes and was at the age of 10. He wore a green tunic with a green hat and brown boots. Link was a lonely boy that had few friends in the forest. Everywhere he went, the other kids would mock and tease him because they had fairies of their own.

Only the Great Deku Tree knew the truth. He knew that Link had a destiny that would lead him into saving the land of Hyrule from an evil man. And so, our story begins.

---------------------------------------------------

Link was having a nightmare as he slept in his bed that night.

He was standing outside a castle, the sky was jet black and it was raining.

"What is this place? What am I doing here?" thought Link.

Just then, the drawbridge came down and a white horse came rushing out as if it were being chased by something. There were two people riding the horse.

One of them was a woman with white hair, red eyes, and looked tough.

But what Link noticed was the girl that was riding with the woman.

She looked to be the same age as him. She wore a fancy dress that was pink and white and wore a head piece that had a gold medallean. The girl had a looke of fright in her eyes.

After the two left, Link heard a noise behind him and turned around to find a man on a black horse that had a red mane and wore armor.

The man had yellow eyes that looked evil in every way and had red hair. His skin was dark and he wore black armor.

The man looked at Link and raised his hand, which then charged up a magic blasted that went straight at Link.

Link was so scared that he couldn't move and didn't have time to dodge the blast.

---------------------------------------------------

The Great Deku Tree felt weary and like his strenght was being drained away. He didn't have much time left so he had to do something.

"Navi..." said the tree. "Navi, where art thou? Come hither..."

At the sound of the great tree's voice, a ball of light with wings came out from hiding in the tree's branches and faced the Great Deku Tree.

"Oh, Navi the fairy... Listen to my words, the words of the Deku Tree... Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm... Malevolent forces even now are mustering to attack our land of Hyrule... For so long, the Kokiri Forest, the source of life, has stood as a barrier, deterring outsiders and maintaining the order of the world... But...before this tremendous evil power, even my power is as nothing...It seems the time has come for the boy without a fairy to begin his journey... The youth whose destiny is to lead Hyrule to the path of justice and truth... Navi...go now! Find our young friend and guide him to me... I do not have much time left. Fly, Navi, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world, depends upon thee!"

With that, the fairy Navi flew away from the tree and went into the forest where the Kokiri children lived and looked around the place to find the boy, Link. On her way, she got lost and asked a Kokiri where Link was and said the he was in the house with the ladder.

When she found the house, she hit her head on the fence while trying to get through a hole, and eventually found the boy.

When she came inside, she found Link asleep in the middle of the day.

"Hello, Link! Wake up!" said the fairy. " The Great Deku Tree wants to talk to you! Link, get up!"

Link rolled over and continued to sleep.

"Hey! C'mon!" yelled Navi. "Can Hyrule's destiny really depend on such a lazy boy?"

At this, Link woke up, rubbed his eyes, and looked up to find a fairy looking at him.

"Who are you?" asked Link.

"You finally woke up! I'm Navi the fair-"

"I know that you're a fairy!" interupted Link. "Skip the part that you say you're a fairy!"

"Fine! The Great Deku Tree has asked me to be your partner from now on! Nice to meet you!" said Navi.

"It's nice to meet you too." said Link.

"The Great Deku Tree has summoned you!" said Navi. "So lets get going right now!"

At hearing what the fairy said, Link had a look of disbelief!

"The Great Deku Tree has summoned me? I can't wait! Let's go!" said Link, who ran out his home happy.

Koroks Rock says:

Rule 1.
"Each and every submission, without exceptions, should be an original work. It is permissible to use quotes from the games, but they should only be used in context, and sparingly. Originality counts heavily, it’s what we’re here for."

OK. So, this introductory chapter is pretty heavily in violation of that rule, which is our first rule for a good reason. If the next chapter is not more original, then I'll have to erase your fic. It's that simple.

Best of luck!
