Chapter 1: Rachel's life gone miserible

Chapter 1
Rachel's life gone miserable

Rachel was staring out of her window in her bedroom wondering if this day would be better than the last. Rachel was in this situation a type of girl that wished for the best, like when her mom would give her "your growing up to be a women speech, when her brother would say how mean she is or thinks about the past, her sister would say something like "Rachel if you make a cake you got to do it right", or she would sing in front of her, when she thinks she is so perfect (which she is not, nobody is), or when she would fight with her parents.

Rachel hated that the most it would break her heart to see them fight, her dad was kind of like the sister, he would yell at her or fight or do nothing all day. Rachel gave a big huff and got ready to go to school. She was in the mood to put on her favorite outfit, a black T-shirt and golden beaded jeans. She always wears a green and blue necklace. She went to put on her zit cream, went down stairs to grab put on her backpack, spend sometime with Susan,( her dog) and went outside to waited for her bus to come. “Thank goodness it’s Friday” Rachel said.

Rachel was in middle school, her first year there. She met a whole lot of new friends. When she gets on the bus she usually just sit there and does nothing. When she got into the school she went to her locker and opened her locker, puts her stuff inside her locker, grabs her stuff she needs for her first period of school, shuts her locker, and goes to her first period of school before the bell rings.

When she got to her class she notice that her boyfriend JD tripped and fell and all of his books fell, so Rachel went to go pick them up. “Hey JD” Rachel replied. “Hey Rachel”. JD said. At ELA Rachel was working with her reading group to find a vocabulary word in their book that they finished reading was Julie of the Wolfs. They were trying to find the word trough. “I want to take a power nap”. JD replied. “Come on JD”. Rachel said. “It’s not going to pop at you, slap you across the face and say hello I’m here”.

When she got on the bus to go home the kids would open their windows. Her sister and brother were on the bus. “Oh joy”. Rachel thought. Normally at the bus ride home she usually just sits there until everyone starts talking. When she got home she felt the need to go to sleep.

. . .

Rachel dreamed that there were 4diamonds in a row like a crown or bracelet of some sort. Then darkness grew around it then an evil laugh came it hurt Rachel’s ears. It grew louder and louder until Rachel woke up. Her eyes opened wide when she woke up her heart pounded fast as a car that went 8,000 miles per second. Her ears were ringing like a loud phone that no one answered. She was so shocked about the dream that she didn’t know what was going on. When she opened her bedroom door flames roared at her face. She quickly shut the door. “Oh my goodness” she screamed. She opened her window and called for help. JD’s dad came because he works at the hospital and JD notices Rachel sigh for help. He sneaked into the fire truck got a fire man clothes on and went into the house.

Mean while Rachel’s room caught on fire her bed her CDs everything. She was about to get cornered with the fire and JD burst into the room grab her and snatched her out of the house. “Rachel its ok I’m here” JD replied. “Ma’am” the sheriff replied. “Can I talk to you”? “Sure” Rachel replied. “And you too JD”. They went over the side of the tree near the neighbor’s house. “Rachel you knew what to do when you trap in the fire but obviously not your family”.

“What”? Rachel replied. The sheriff frowned and said. “I’m sorry to say this but you were the only one who survived the fire you were the only one we could find”. Rachel’s Eyes over flood with tears. “Oh” Rachel sobbed. She wanted to have at least one of her family member to survive the fire her brother even. But they didn’t. JD grabs her arm and hugged her. She cried on his shoulder as he held her tight.

“I…..I wished that I could’ve spend more time with my family but now their gone all of them”. Rachel sobbed. “Rachel” JD replied. “You spend time with them as much as you could have”. “Thanks JD” Rachel replied. “And you cowboy” the sheriff said as he look to JD. “I never seen that a boy with no experience come and save someone like that”. “Rachel you better hold onto this one for a long time”. “Thank you” Rachel replied. Then a car was in front of the house it had writing on the side of the car it said The Children Help co. at the bottom of those letters it said help you and the kids of America have a better life. Rachel’s eyes got wider as she read the words.

Then a man step out of the car. He looks like a business person with a black suit talking on his cell phone. “Well I have to go Bye” he spoke into his cell phone. Rachel caught something out of the corner of her eye. Something she knew. The angry face on the sheriff she had known that face when JD and Rachel was holding hands for the first time he meet them together. He would have a frown on his face and shock his head twice the only difference of that time and now he said to them “watch yourself before you make a big mistake”. And the sheriff did the same thing he had a frown on his face had shook head twice. (Uh no) Rachel thought.

Then the business man turned looked at her and said in a generous voice “Why hello Rachel”. “I’m sorry about the accident I know how it feels” he said with a grin. “Well it’s a pleasure to meet such a nice girl like you”. “Well we better get going” he said and reaches out his hand. But then the sheriff pulled Rachel away and step in front. “Now just how do you know her and her family”? The sheriff asked. The man smiled and pulled out some paper work from his hand.

“Her parents thought that they couldn’t keep her any longer so they found my company in the news paper and called me”. “They what”? Rachel replied. The sheriff put his hand at her face which just meant relaxes let me deal with it. Rachel was mad at her parents she knew that they had their problems and so her family. But she never thought they do that. “Let me see this paper” the sheriff replied. “Of course” the business man said. The sheriff look at it and turned to look at Rachel but she was gone.

She ran all the way to the forest, she went all the way too the secret tree house that she usually did her home work. She cried for 2 hours and then stopped. Then she heard footstep coming from the ground. “Rachel”. The voice called up to her. It was the business man. She didn’t want to go away with him she didn’t want that to happen so she found the window of her tree house and jump out and ran. The business man saw her and started to run after her.

“Now I know how fast this must be for you but it’s for your own good your parents wanted the best for you and you have to deal with it”. He said. “Get away from me”. Rachel yelled back. She ran making short cuts and look behind her 2 times to see that he was still behind her so she continued running until she reach the cliff along it was a river. She was on the tip of the mountain she had lost her balance and fell. “Splash”. She went into the water and was knocked out by a rock. Along the river a boy was fishing for fun and for practice. He caught something. The corner of Rachel’s shirt but he didn’t know.

“Oh I finally caught something. He said as he was pulling the rope from his fishing pole back. When he found out it was Rachel his eyes got wide he took the hook from her shirt and carrying her on his back as he ran. “Mummy daddy” the boy said. And showed them the girl as he was so amazed. “Son where did you find her”. The father said. “I found her on the river banks”. The boy said. “Oh my goodness”. The mother said.

“Ah she will be alright she still alive hurt her leg a little in fact it’s not even a sprain”. The father replied. “Son take her and place her on the couch”. “Right away pa” the boy said and took off with Rachel on his back.
