The Five Links

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile too much school work, anyway, I hope you like this.

The dark red roses, which appeared to be black due to the lighting, swayed gently in the wind along with the short, pale grass. These were the castle gardens there had to be at least over a thousand roses lined in rows or on the stone walls; overall, they were everywhere. Each rose was beautiful and the flowers seemed to beckon those who strayed into the garden to stroke them, little did they know the devious little flowers bore sharp thorns hidden around their stem so they could prick the unfortunate being who was enticed to run their finger along the pretty little thing. Vio glanced at the roses that travelled up the column of the stone that supported the little bench he was sitting on. Then he returned his eyes to his book on his lap and he gently turned one of the yellowed pages.

"This book has got to have the answer on how I can save him..." Vio thought to himself as his eyes moved across the page at great speeds.
His golden hair was being swayed ever so slightly by the cold breezes that kept coming and going. He eventually was so into the book that he was unaware of his surroundings, so Shadow managed to sneak up on him.

"Reading again, Vio?" Shadow smirked as he appeared in front of Vio. Vio glanced up from his book and Shadow laughed. "You know, you read too much!" Shadow stated as he placed his finger on Vio's book and lowered it. Vio then closed his book set it down next to him and looked up at Shadow, who then just wandered over to a stone wall with the red roses. "They're beautiful aren't they Vio?" Shadow stated as he stroked the silky petals of the flower. Vio watched Shadow's fingers travel along the flower and stop just before the stem.

"Yeah...I guess they are," Vio stated almost inaudibly. Shadow walked away from the flower and Vio stood up.

"Ah yes, I came here to tell you that Master Vaati is going to have a meeting and he wants all of us to attend," Shadow stated as he layed down on the empty bench. "You must be excited. You're already considered a member of the dark forces by Master Vaati," Shadow smiled as he moved his deep purple hair out of his face and looked at Vio with his icy blue eyes.

"What's the meeting about?" Vio asked suddenly. Shadow shifted his position so he was more comfortable on the cold stone.

"How should I know?" Shadow replied. "My best guess is that it has to deal with how we are going to revive the evil king, Ganondorf." Vio glanced over towards where the castle's keep was.

"*sigh* I guess we better get going then...I don't want to get lost," Vio started as he reached out to grab his thick book that was resting next to Shadow's side. Shadow then placed his hand on the book when Vio was trying to grab it and held it down.

"Why the rush Vio? We've still got hours before the meeting! It's being held tomorrow morning and right now it's just about nightfall! And you don't have to worry about getting lost...I know every nook and cranny of this place like the back of my hand!" Shadow stated as he picked a rose and twirled it around in his hand. Vio looked down at the pale grass and then at the book in his hands.

"I need to get back to reading Shadow," Vio stated as he made his way towards the exit.

"Hmph, what's so important about that book anyway? Where'd you get it from? "Shadow called after Vio. He didn't answer him so Shadow smirked and used his magic on Vio just before he opened the door. Suddenly Vio suddenly was jerked over to a tree and one of his wrists was tied to the tree by a couple long rose stems and then his ankles were held to the ground. In his free hand he held the book tightly.

"S-shadow! Get rid of the vines!", Vio stated through his teeth which were clenched in pain. Shadow smiled and revealed his fangs as he walked over to Vio. Vio looked Shadow directly in his eyes which sent a shiver up his spine. Shadow gently moved Vio's hair away from his ear and whispered into it.

"Vio...all I want to know is why that book is so important to you...so...give me the book...give it to me NOW Vio..." Shadow commanded softly. Vio had to use all of his might to resist.

"I c-can't let him have it!" Vio thought to himself.

"Hmph, resist all you want...we both know who's going to win." Shadow smirked, he raised his hand so he could use his magic to tighten the vines. "I'll get what I want from you!"

"Noooo!!!" Vio yelled as much as he could with the vines' grip getting tighter on his wrist and ankles.

Hyrule Castle- Dinner Hall

"Eek! Blue-kun!!! You have to keep watch over what you're cooking!!!"

"Look Red, DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!" Blue growled as he tried to put out the flaming mess that was his pancake. Red looked down at his feet.

"Sorry Blue-kun..." Red sighed. Midna, Zelda, and Link were eating their pancakes which were prepared for them by Red.

"These have got to best the best pancakes I've ever had! Who cares if it's not common to have pancakes for dinner!" Midna stated as she stuffed her face with mouth-watering goodness. Zelda looked at Midna in disgust.

"Well, for a princess, you sure do have good manners," Zelda muttered sarcastically as she took a little bite of pancake. Midna glared at Zelda and then resumed eating.

"Hmph, spoiled brat," Midna smirked as she took another bite. Link looked at the two of them who kept glaring at each other.

"Guys! We all need to get along or we'll never get anywhere!" Link stated firmly at the rest of the group. "Can't we ever get through a meal ONCE without fighting?!"

"Aw, SHUT UP LINK!!!" Blue growled as he glared from across the table. Link glared and opened his mouth to counter Blue's remark.

"You know what Blue...you better cut the crap!"
