Four Swords Adventures actually contains two games: Hyrule Adventure and Shadow Battle. In Japan only there is a third game, Navi Trackers.

Hyrulean Adventure (previously known as Four Swords GC) is a multiplayer, story-driven game which appears to follow on the heals of Four Swords for GBA. You will fight in such locales as Mount Doom and the Dark World. The players use Game Boy Advances as controllers. No GameCube controllers or GBA paks are required. Most of the gameplay takes place on the TV screen, but the gameplay will at times switch to the GBA screen. Like the previous Four Swords game, the idea is to work with and against each other to pass through dungeons and get items. As players move away from each other, the screen zooms out to show all the players. If a player enters a house, cave, or any enclosed area, the gameplay for that person moves to the GBA screen. This game can be played alone without a GBA.

Shadow Battle, the second game on the disc, is a kind of multiplayer deathmatch, kind of like Bomberman but with Zelda weapons. There is no single player mode for this game, and GBA's are required. You start out with a handfull of stages to choose from, and as you progress in the main game more levels are unlocked.

Navi Trackers (formerly known as Tetra's Trackers) is another multiplayer GameCube game (Japan only) that links the GameCube and GBA together. On the TV screen, Tetra leads differently colored Links around Hyrule on a game to get stamps from her pirates on Pirate Island. The actual gameplay takes place on the GBA screens. This game can be played alone, but a GBA is required.
