Ether Medallion

Description: Allow you to control the upper atmosphere and polar wind. Freezes enemies and reveals invisible floors temporarily. Used to open the Swamp Palace by stopping the storm. Given to you if you hold the Master Sword up in front of a monolith on Death Mountain, west of the Tower of Hera across a bridge.

Four Sword

Description: A mythical blade that was used by a hero long ago to defeat Vaati the wind mage. Is able to split its user into four copies. The four shards of this blade, each a different color of the Four Sword, can be found in the Palace of the Four Sword in ALttP GBA.
Freezor

Description: An ice demon that lives in the Ice Palace. It sleeps on the walls until a target approaches. It can only be defeated with the Fire Rod.

Ganon's Tower

Description: The tower, built by Ganon, out of which he runs his evil schemes. There have been at least three of these towers: in ALttP, on top of the mountain in the Dark World; in OoT, in place of Hyrule Castle (destroyed when Link defeated Ganondorf); and in TWW, on top of the mountain next to Hyrule Castle.
Ganondorf
Games: ALttP SNES, OoT, ALttP GBA, TWW
Description: The human form of the series' arch-villain, Ganon. Ganondorf was the king of Gerudo thieves. He desired to rule the world, and was able to find the Triforce. The Triforce allowed him to become an evil king, and he has since become a monster known as Ganon. He has died and been revived several times.

Gossip Shop

Description: The Dark World mirror of the smithy in Kakariko Village. Here you can find a treasure to give to the middle-aged man near the entrance to the Desert of Mystery.
Great Cataclysm

Description: An event referred to in several prophecies. A hero will arrive on Cataclysm's Eve to defeat the one who began the Great Cataclysm. If the evil one destroys the Hero, nothing can save the world from his wicked reign.
Great Fairy

Description: Great Fairies are larger than normal fairies and hold greater powers. They will heal you, and some will give you special magical skills or item upgrades. Some can be shattered into many smaller fairies, and cannot regain their powers until they are reunited.

Hurricane Spin

Description: An upgraded form of the spin attack, Link spins round and round with his sword held out, able to move while spinning. Uses a little magic power. Taught by Orca in exchange for 10 Knight's Crests.
Hylian

Description: The chosen race of the gods. Hylians have long ears, fair skin, and strong magical abilities. They can hear messages from the gods, and are sometimes blessed with prophecies.
Hylian Knights

Description: In OoT, the Hylian Knights are the ones guarding Hyrule Castle Town. In OoS, Din's dancing troupe are actually all Hylian Knights in disguise. The Hylian Knights may be the same thing as the Knights of Hyrule mentioned in ALttP.

Kakariko Village

Description: Boss of the fifth Dark World dungeon in ALttP, the Ice Palace. Basically a puffball eye encased in ice, who causes ice to fall from the ceiling. After melting the ice with the Fire Rod, the eye splits into three and scoots around the floor.
Kiki the Monkey
Games: ALttP SNES, LA, LA DX, ALttP GBA
Description: A monkey with very poor vocabulary who likes to say "ki ki ki!" In ALttP, he lives in the Dark World and lets you into the Dark Palace. In LA, he wants a banana. His monkey friends will eat your bananas and leave behind a stick.
King of Darkness
Games: ALttP SNES, ALttP GBA
Description: A title given to Ganondorf after he got the Triforce and used it to become the evil king Ganon.
Knights of Hyrule
Games: ALttP SNES, ALttP GBA
Description: The knights who protected the Hylian royalty around the time of the Imprisoning War. Said to have been mostly wiped out during the battle with Ganon's forces. According to legend, the hero who will save Hyrule from the Great Cataclysm must come from the line of the Knights of Hyrule. In ALttP, Link is said to be the last in the line of these knights.
Lake Hylia

Description: A large lake in southeastern Hyrule, fed by a river. There are several islands in the middle of it. In OoT, the Water Temple is located underneath Lake Hylia.
Lake of Ill Omen

Description: The Dark World mirror of the river's source in the Light World. A large, stagnant, dirty lake.
Lamp

Description: The lamp is located in the treasure chest in Link's house. It requires a little bit of magic power to light it.
Land of the Golden Power

If the transportation is successful (you don't try to teleport into an obstacle), it leaves behind a temporary portal back into the Dark World. If you are in a dungeon, the Magic Mirror will transport you to the entrance of the dungeon.

At some point, a Hyrulian princess named Zelda was put under a sleeping spell by an evil wizard, and from then on all princesses in the Royal Family were named Zelda. The Royal Family is served by the Sheikahs prior to OoT, and over the generations have been served by the Impa family.

In ALttP, Wart is the boss of the second Dark World dungeon, the Swamp Palace, and is called Arrghus in the American version. In MM, he is the miniboss of various dungeons.
