Anyone made it to the Eldin Volcano yet?

I'm liking it so far. Fi is far far FAAAAR more annoying than Navi ever was to me. >> At least Navi had somewhat of a personality... she'd say hey to me every time I was about to fight monsters... <<

lol, I think she was more of a joke on Link's previous side-kicks than anything else. I remember freaking out on the pirate ship temple when it was sinking during the last boss battle and as soon as I made it onto a safe ledge she came out and said something like "Master, according to my calculations there is an 85% chance that this ship has taken up water." ;P

I didn't like her at all until I got to the ending... then I wanted to cry. But she does get some sort of a "personality" (if it can really be called one) towards the second half of the game (although I'm still convinced she's trying to kill Link instead of play with him)... the ending made me feel horrible that I never cared about her before Y.Y

I"m not that far yet! I just got my players Guide in today too! And got off of work early too.

i beat the game on the 2 and a half day i got it which was strate away

I thought the game was hard enough! How hard was the last boss? My sword skills suck so I'm kind of nervous...

Lol, my sword skill sucks too, and I'm too busy with work to play it...I'm just glad I'm off Thursday, Friday and Saturday! :3

Finished the game. Playing Hero Mode atm. Just got to Faron once again. Continueing tomorrow.

Cool things about Hero Mode:
. Whiners who complained about it being ez can have a chance to eat their hearts out. Instant death guaranteed.
. Skyward strike fully charged from the get-go.
. Some characters acknowledge you're playing it in Hero Mode lol

yo zhelkus, ya do know you might have rewand it for other people now and im at the narues fire temple (4th temple i think) at the moment

I just started over on Hero Mode... does anyone know if there is a difference in cutscenes? I'm only noticing a slight change in what NPCs are saying but nothing else... I haven't left Skyloft yet, though...

@andy198: I don't think I ruined anything plot essential. anybody who acutally wants to ruin the story for themselves can look up some youtube videos. there's plenty of people who already recorded their enire playthrough with capture cards.

@flimsykitty: apparently you can skip some cutscenes by pressing 2. But it isn't something new to Hero Mode. In fact, when you died and continued your adventure and replayed a cutscene you could already skip it. .... so no, no differences in cutscenes. Only in dialogues with a few people.

Anybody who is playing Hero Mode might want to read this to learn ALL the differences they are to come across while playing the game again. Spoilers inlcuded, read at your own risk. Don't blame me for your own curiosity.

@zhelkus: Thanks! It's kind of a let down that there's not much to look forward to in Hero Mode... I was hoping for a second ending or at least more info on Impa. Oh well... I'm already having too much fun dying in the Skyview Temple so might as well keep playing! I've died like seven times already and I'm not even at the miniboss >,>

man the bosses might be easy but they are quite epic, they thought of everything this time around and i also love how they mixed all games into 1, how many out of u guys/girls have noticed that?

@andy198: I dunno... I had trouble on quite a few bosses... I wouldn't call them easy! Compared to Twilight Princess these bosses were kind of tough, especially on Hero Mode >.> I've noticed a few references to past Zelda games but most of it was done as a parody kind of >.> I don't believe Zelda's harp is the one she used in Ocarina of Time... that's way to vague. Her going to sleep was a reference to Zelda II but in a completely different way... Did anyone else see Tingle in Skyloft? ^^

Tingle? Where is he? I thought this game was free of that queer fairy. I'll never understand how in Japan they love him more than Link... effing weirdos.

@filmsykitty: the only boss i had trouble with was the forest temple boss (forgot his name) and i have noticed these from ocarina of time, twlight princess, makora's mask, wind waker, a link to the past and maybe a few others i havent quite notined yet

@zhelkus Don't worry, he's just a plushie in this game! >,> If you get on top of the roof of the academy you can hookshot your way into Zelda's locked room and it'll be on her desk. (I guess she loves Tingle more than Link too ^^) I'd go there at night because there's a heart piece in the closet and a gratitude crystal thingy.

@andy198 The worst boss in my opinion was that squid in the ship place... probably only because it combined all my worst fears into one Y.Y I was literally in tears when the tentacles turned into snakes >.< And Fi's hints didn't help at all! I was shaking the entire battle long because I'm terrified of things like that!

I haven't seen any references to Twilight Princess... although I do miss Midna after dealing with that stupid robot in Eldin >.> Scrapper irritates the heck out of me!

The Official Nintendo Magazine is officially the worst source for accurate info. Before the game came out they said that Tingle wasn't in the game at all and that Fi was less annoying than Navi. 0.0 Did they even play it!?

@filmykitty: that squid boss is my easiest boss but by far the creepyest boss has to be that golden statue boss, after u bea him, he goes crazy and then it looks down at u and gives u a happy face with a pesest little girls laugh, i was terrified forst time i beat him and by the sounds of it, you would faint if u saw a crackon and Fi helps when u click objectine, hints are useless and the reference between twilight princess and skyward sword, when u collect the tears (dins, nayrues and the other one), when you collect them where does it go but have u seen the siimilaraties between a link to the past and skyward sword, its so easy to see

1 more thing, on Dins flame on hero mode, i have just beat your worst nightmare, that crackon, maduser thing

I'm just about to fight the Kraken boss on the Sandship too! The first time I played seemed pretty easy. I think I remember Fi hinting that the tentacles could only be destroyed with a holy attack or something. Sherlock Holmes got tips like those before he was even born.

What's worrying me atm is how tough the Boss Rush is going to be on Hero Mode. I want the damn OoT shield!!

I imagine any moment now there are going to be lot's of Speed Runs for the Boss Rush popping up on speeddemosarchive. Wonder how the pros will perform...

Another curiosity... it would be nice to find out whose dialogues contain different text when playing Hero Mode, specifically.

@zhelku I didn't think that applied to the ones that were vertical for some reason 0.o I was already freaking out when the ship was sinking and didn't put two and two together when I got outside ^^' I tried to wait for them to go horizontally but by that time they already grabbed Link and... yeah... I think I died twice before I finally got my head together and stopped panicking... and then the snakes came...

@andy198 How can you beat the game so fast!? I JUST made it to the third temple in Hero Mode (I'm probably slow because of school; but still!)

Do the characters say anything different at the end of the game? I could imagine the dragons and Fi saying something about Hero Mode because they've already broken the fourth wall a few times but does Impa or Zelda say anything new?

You know it's funny: I only figured out after half-way through my first playthrough that after charging the skyward strike it could then be launched in any direction. Horizontal, vertical, two diagonals. Right from the start of Hero Mode it makes cutting grass SO much easier.

It could also enhance the spin attack AND the plunge attack when not locked on. Don't know if these last two enhancements are only aesthetic or do actual extra damage. Won't be playing again soon. Somebody confirm this?

@filmsykitty - i naturally beat games fast, i always have done for some reason and i go school aswell, come home at 4pm and play it for 6 hours strate every day apart from weekends, thats when i play it for the whole day and im not sure, the only things i accually red were the things i had to read, everything else i skipped, i am not going through all them long reading parts again and well as far as i know... HERO MODE IS HARD AT THE END, TUCK AGES TO BEAT AND IF U BEAT THE FINAL BOSS WITHOUT A SHIELD ON HERO MODE THEN U ARE A PRO GRRRRR

@zhelkus - not just them directions, u can also use the jump slash, the spinning move, the poke (trusting the wii remote forward)...

I have beat the game I am now working on beating it on Hero mode and I copied a file so I could also 100% it.

The things I did not like about the game would be that it zoomed in on the map every time you went to a new area it got annoying quickly and some small stuff. But it was fun to play.
