slingshot.gif
slingshot.gifQ2 Slingshot Wireframe567 viewsYet another screenshot from q2modeller, This one shows off my newest weapon, the slingshot. It's been a singulary difficult design, because of the reloading frames not working right, and also my pathetic hand-making skills.

All told though, I'm rather proud of it- it's been quite a job and i've gotten decent results. 59 frames of loaded and firing slingshot.

z1map~0.swf
z1map~0.swf822 viewsAh, at last i can upload again. It's good to be able to do that once more. Especially considering this is a second upload of this file :)

This static flash is simply a render of the overworld of Zelda 1, textured by me. I did get substantial help putting the map itsef together from simplified screenies, but the texturing in flash was all me. I'm considering doing the same kind of thing i did for OoT, but i'm not sure if it's worth the effort.

weeblminish.swfMinish Links meets Weebl1127 viewsSoundless

Flash 6

I started to upload the old jpeg version of this little loop when it occured to me that i could make the same picture, at higher resolution, and moving, if i did the job in flash. Hence, I took the old motionless picture and rerendered it in flash, which cut it's size down to 17 KB, contrary to it's previous 160+ KB. That's the power of flash.

The loop is pretty self-explainitory, for those who know about Weebl and Bob. For those unfortuneate souls who do not, go to http://www.weebl.jolt.co.uk/pie.htm i think, that may be an incorrect URL.

islands_bg.jpg
islands_bg.jpgZunari's Homeland1208 viewsI'm just taking a break from modelling for now, and am playing around with a program called terragen. It's chief use is making skyboxes, but it can also be useful for artistic wallpapers like this.

The idea was to make a group of islands that would resemble Zunari's (the shop guy in WW) homeland, which is supposed to be all cold and snowy. Originally I had it much, much more snowy, but I decided it wasn't very visually engaging, so I severely turned down the snow and added plenty of rock and a little grass. In retrospect I wish I had kept more of the snow. Oh well.

I don't even want to know how many quadrilaterals this had, it took my computer 11 minutes to render.

colored.png
colored.pngMilo and Shaun, traced and colored835 viewsPretty self explainatory. I traced and colored this comic from John and Milo, (the 17th comic by jiminycricketX) using flash 6, so that it would be both in color and smoothed. Notice how much higher resolution this pic is.

Ran it through photoshop for a brief minute, so I could put in some soft shading that is difficult to accomplish in flash. Overall very productive.

split_wallpaper.jpg
split_wallpaper.jpgSplit Natures (wallpaper)831 viewsThis is a relatively straightforward edit to existing artwork that you can find on Nintendo Power magazines (or so i'm told. i dunno, i got it from zeldalegends). the tricky bit was trying to change the pic's proportions without distorting the subjects. i tried at some length to displace the bottom and top to the sides, but once i did so i realized that it didn't work out as a background.

so i scrapped it and went for the rule-of-thirds appoach you see here, twisting the existing side material backwards so as to give the user some space to put their desktop icons. i also tried to apply the sexy new logo, but i really didn't work colorwise. so i just stuck the name over to the right, mirroring the now-classic Unreal Tournament backgrounds.

So the root subject is not mine, i don't take credit for it, but getting it to work as a background was my effort.

oldman1.jpg
oldman1.jpgMD2 Old Man603 viewsRemember the somewhat random old men scattered throughout Zelda 1? And have continued to appear everywhere since? This is his newest rendition. it's a very simple model that will stand on a text trigger, creating the illusion of an NPC (Non Player Character).4 commentsKoroks Rock

korokent.jpg
korokent.jpgMakar/treebeard Hybrid Idea1239 viewsAs you will come to know, I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan. I drew this pic after having reread the Two Towers just before it released, using Treebeards line: "My business is with Sarumon with the rock and stone."

Makar and the other Koroks could easily be transformed into ents, should nintendo wish it, but here I tried to find a middle ground. Smooth like the Koroks but towering like the ents etc.

QuadMask1.jpg
QuadMask1.jpgQ2 Majora's Mask658 viewsThis is yet another 3D model I made for my Zelda game, using Q2Modeller. I'm using Q2 because it's the only 3D format my game engine will run, which is handy because Q2 is open source. Unforetuneatly it means i have to skin it seperately.

Anyhoo, the idea is to place the Mask frugally in high combat areas. Once the mask is grabbed it will give 4x the offensive strength to the bearer for a limited amount of time.

weebl minish.jpg
weebl minish.jpgMinish Link meets Weebl1412 viewsSeeing the distinct lack of Minish Cap art, I once decided to slap this together. I decided to use my favorite flash characters, Weebl and Bob, as particpant, for no reason whatsoever but a blatant plug for the duo.20 commentsKoroks Rock

oot_sum.swf
oot_sum.swfSumation of OoT882 viewsOnce again, this is a hyperspeed rendition of what happens thoughout OoT. I listed (most of) the items in the upper left corner as you get them, with a number of exceptions, mostly due to my inner lazyness. I also posted where/what's going on in the lower left corner, which helps clear stuff up a bit, and the trading game in the upper right.

I decided to use FireGS's Tal Tal Mtn song (from www.zreo.com) because it's a good song for this. Also, it's already an MP3, which means i don't have to rerecord it myself :)

Finally, i decided not to cut>animate the adult bosses because it took so much effort to animate the young link bosses and i wanted to stay under 1 megabyte.

This will be my last production until perhaps September: I'm going to staff at a backpacking camp for the rest of July, and then August is going to be pure h*ll for me, what with school starting again and having to catch up on other projects. I'll be back and commenting about August the 2nd, but not posting new stuff.

Pound It.jpg
Pound It.jpgPound it!1257 viewsThis old joke turned out to be a lot harder to photshop than expected. Darunia always has his left arm down, no matter what pic you see, so i had to adjust the scaling a good bit and retexture a lot. This was also made when my scanner was on the blitz, which is why some things are so grainy.14 commentsKoroks Rock

pink.jpg
pink.jpgAZ's Pink Sword529 viewsThis is my version of AZ's pink sowrd. it is exactly the same shape and proportions, with the exact same pattern. But i went to the trouble of making a texture, beveling everything, and putting in a BG. this is what a sword picture *can* look like. and this is still a quick job, i could have used real sword textures and given it a decent hilt.6 commentsKoroks Rock

Saria2.jpg
Saria2.jpgSaria's Wrath916 viewsIn the old gallery many of us had fan fictions that we illustrated for. This particular scene is pulled from my own fic, in one of the pivotal moments.

Saria (yes, I took a lot of liberty with the shape of the kokiri) has just avoided rape by one of the Corrupt Gaurds, and is retaliating. That's the Great Deku tree talking up top.

race.swf
race.swfMinish Race649 viewsA simple flash game, crafted for Zelda's 20th birthday (as far as japan is concerned).

It's definately not finished, but it's the beginning of what I hope will be a community effort. It needs a few levels to beef it out, a little introductory explaination, me to figure out how to get the water spills working again, etc, but it's playable as of right now. Just grab a buddy and enjoy riding around on an octo as a Minish.

quiver.jpg
quiver.jpgMD2 Quiver553 views(sorry about the heigth of this pic)

This is a modded screenshot of the new ammunition model for the bow. It's pretty low-poly because ammo tends to be prevalent across levels, which means that it will be appearing a lot. hence, to keep it from swamping low end machines, I've been force to make it extremely simple. Some stats:

Number of Vertices: 35
Number of Skin Vertices: 35
Number of Faces: 56
Number of Frames: 1
Average Size of Triangles: 180

Build Time: 30 minutes, plus a few skin revisons

blueemblem.jpg
blueemblem.jpgHyrule Emblem Texture418 viewsWow, i made this ages ago for Cube Legends (my game MOD) and just realized i hadn't uploaded it here. it's just a simple little texture for CTF maps to use, in order to help players know what side of the map they're on. It was loosely based off some of the 4SA official art, along with a stone texture i had already made.

Nothing fancy, just practical.
