Zelda News: Two Reviewers Give Skyward Sword Perfect Scores

Posted by on October 21, 2011

Yesterday both the Official Nintendo Magazine and Edge Magazine released their initial reviews of Skyward Sword.

The Official Nintendo Magazine rated the game a 98/100, the highest score it has given to any other game and named it the “Best Zelda Game Ever.” This news would perhaps be a bit more creditable if it wasn’t Nintendo’s own opinion and Ocarina of Time 3D and Twilight Princess didn’t receive the same exact score and title. While there was hardly any new information released through the issue, here’s the content I found interesting:

The Sealed Grounds is home to The Imprisoned, the black beast Link encounters early in the game through his dreams and is apparently after Zelda.

Expect enemies to change, adapt, and get stronger as you acquire new weapons. When you return to old areas the monsters will have gotten harder.

The Goron’s name is Gorko. He’s a traveling archeologist.

You can upgrade your dowsing ability.

Temples will be linear, as with every other Zelda game before. Basically all this means is that you need certain items like keys to go from one room to the next.

Edge Magazine also gave the game a perfect 10/10, a rarity and defiantly much more reliable than the Official Nintendo Magazine! Their full review will be online on October 25. I’ll be sure to update on any new information that may be leaked with the issue!
