Chapter 1: A Hero's Return, A New Enemy

Link bit his lip as he aimed his bow at the moblin not too far ahead. He had just saved Termina from a lunar doom and had decided to head back to Hyrule. He shot once, causing the moblin to drop his spear.

As the confused moblin gaped and looked for his weapon, Link shot again. And again. But the moblin still did not notice him. Finally, Link shot an arrow one last time, which sent the moblin into tears. A grin spread over Link’s face and he finished the moblin off. Link whistled for Epona after he had collected a few deku sticks for fire. “Come on Epona…let's go home,” he whispered, and he rode into the cold night, unaware that he had been robbed.

“I’ll go though the bag…I’m older!!” Koume hissed.

“It’s been eight years since we’ve had this argument! We’re twins! Twins!!” Kotake argued with her sister as they went through Link’s bag. Koume grumbled and took out a strange mask.

“Ah! Finally! After all these years!!” she cried in triumph. In her cold clammy hands was the Fierce Deity’s Mask. Kotake took it from her and smiled with greed.

“The Zoras are going to pay big for this thing!! We’ll be rich!” she said. Koume gasped.

“We’re going to sell it? Let’s use it! We’ll be unstoppable!” she prompted. Kotake fumed and sighed.

“Well, I still think we should sell it…it is dangerous, like the gossip stone said,” she hissed.

Suddenly the argument ended as the mask fell from Kotake’s hands. “Wha…” she exclaimed. “I WILL NOT BE USED FOR ONE’S OWN DESIRES!!” A voice rang out. The two witches shreiked and collapsed. The ominous voice echoed right down to their very core.

“Who are you? What are you!?” Koume asked, frightened. “I’m am the the darkness in your nightmares, the warrior who takes down armies single-handedly, your worst enemy. I am the Fierce Deity,” it answered, coming from the mask, which had taken it’s place in the air. Every single inch of moonlight was sucked from the forest and into the mask. The witches gaped in horror as a dark mass materialized, which looked oddly like Link.

“Who are you?!?” Kotake gasped. “I am the Hero of Time’s other side. Oni-Link,” the dark matter answered softly but harshly. Before the witches could run for their lives, the demon pulled out his sword and struck them down.

After the old hags had faded away, the dark matter took the form of a strong warrior. Oni-Link gazed around the gloomy woods and spotted a tree nearby. The symbol on it was one he recognized. He pressed his hand to the trunk and felt power surge through him.

All time stopped as a triad appeared on his hand.

While Link sat in his room at the inn at Kakariko Village, the ground shook and his Triforce resonated. His eyes widened and he left his room. “What’s going on?” he asked the innkeeper, on his way out to Hyrule Field. She was speechless as she gazed to the sky. Link looked up and gasped as three blinding lights shot across the night sky.

He clasped his cloak around his neck and ran out to Hyrule Field. He leapt onto Epona and quickly rode into the market. Every townsperson had left their homes and were making their way to the castle…where the lights were heading. Link dismounted Epona and made his way to the field in front of the castle. Suddenly, Link’s Triforce left his hand and he fainted. The Triforce of Courage was pulled into one of the orbs, followed by the Triforce of Wisdom. The King came out with Zelda being carried out by her guard. While lightning struck around the area, three figures emerged from the lights.

The townspeople gasped, and so did the royals. The Three Goddesses of Creation had made theirselves into living form. Din, with her flowing red hair and fiery aura, Nayru with her wisdom and crystalline hair, and Farore, with her strong courage and a flowing figure like a willow.

When Link and Zelda awakened, the six were transported to the Sacred Realm. Link pulled himself to his feet and punched himself in the chin to make sure he wasn’t still unconcious when he saw the goddesses. Zelda tried not to laugh and turned her attention to the three. “Oh great goddesses! Why do you come to Hyrule in such a form?” King Daphnes inquired.

Din exchanged glances with her partners and smiled. “We thought over it and decided that we should experience the world in your point of view,” she responded strongly. Link laughed quietly. “The goddesses are taking a vacation…we’re all going to die,” he joked. Din and Nayru rolled their eyes, but Farore giggled.

“Why do you need the Triforce pieces?” he asked, getting serious.

“To take on a human form here in Hyrule, we had to have them,” Nayru explained. “Sadly two other pieces are missing,” Farore sighed, not taking her eyes off of Link.

“Two?” Zelda exclaimed, “I thought there were three pieces of the Triforce…not four.”

Nayru and Farore raised their left hands and the pieces appeared. The two pieces left the goddesses and hovered in front of the group. “This is where the Triforce of Power would be…but some Gerudo fool still has it. Now look in the center,” Din said, and a golden hologram appeared in the center of the half-formed Triforce. Link gasped and Zelda clutched her heart. “So…there is another piece,” the king said. He turned to the guard and tossed him five rupees.

“Who has it?” Link asked, staring at the Triforce. The goddesses turned their eyes on him. “You do.”

Oni-Link grin widened as he saw the Triforce of Life. “Heh, my rightful prize,” he said. Suddenly, he jumped as he felt something nudge him. He turned to find his horse. “Hey boy…ready for an adventure?”

“Wha…but how?” Link stammered. “You received the Triforce of Courage, but you were born with the piece of Life,” Nayru explained, “Your father had been killed while posessing the Triforce of Life, which he received before the war. This piece is actually a mix of the three main pieces.” Link sat down and sighed, tensing as Zelda laid her hand on his shoulder.

“Why didn’t he tell me?” he whispered to himself. “Who…” “The Great Deku Tree!!” Link growled, shrugging her hand off. Farore sat beside him and offered a weak smile. “If it makes you feel any better, you don’t have it at the moment,” she told him. He looked at her, confused. “What?” he asked.

“When you were in the woods, you were robbed by the two hags, Koume and Kotake. They came across the Fierce Deity’s Mask you had in your care. In their greedy argument, the mask took on a dark version of yourself. Apparently the last time you wore it, the Triforce of Life stayed in it,” Din explained. “So that’s why I collapsed during the fight with Majora’s Incarnate,” Link sighed humorously.

After the goddesses had explained everything, they all returned to Hyrule Castle, just in time for morning to break. Din and Nayru decided to see the country while Farore went to Lake Hylia with Zelda and Link.

While Farore and Zelda jumped into the lake, Link stayed on shore to reflect on the recent events. His mind was so jumbled and he was so into his thoughts that he didn’t even notice Farore sitting beside him. “Hey Link! Are you alright? You look pale,” she laughed as Zelda joined them.

“It’s just…I’m just not feeling well,” he sighed, “Having the Triforce removed was probably the most terrible feeling I’ve ever had,” he said. “You’ll be ok. It’ll wear off after a while,” Zelda encouraged.

Koroks Rock says:

You have some spacing issues you should read on.

It feels like you wrote a good intro chapter, then rushed through the second and tacked in into the intro chapter. You may want to cut this chapter in two and rework the second half.

This is a very good chapter with an interesting storyline, but you have made a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. I hope to hear more soon. Good luck!
