Chapter 1: Prelude
Once upon a time, there existed a world full of many, many peculiar, but miraculous stories. It was a place of pure romance and consummate admiration for the king and queen. This specific land was known as Hyrule, a divine dimension of the world. It was ruled by the king and queen, who were the young lovers Link and Zelda. Yes, many tales were told of the two, of their grave adventures and exciting exploits. They were truly in love, and they bore a young daughter who would play a much greater role than someday queen of Hyrule.
This girl, Isabella, was the Heroine of Time…but, not even she would know this for a very long while, for her parents kept it from her. She was such an innocent girl…Things must be prohibited until she was old and mature enough to really understand; to completely comprehend the circumstances and events. They thought they had everything under control…for now, anyway. However, they were aware that the moment of truth would arrive soon enough; when their young Isabella would mature into a young woman and demand to know what was really going on. Link and Zelda knew that their daughter might possibly hate them for it, keeping all these many secrets from her. But they had their reasons, didn’t they?
Of course they did. Honesty would just have to wait.
Zelda had no problem with it. She’d kept several of her own little secrets when she was younger. How was now any different? Link, on the other hand…His conscience was driving him crazy all those years. He yearned to tell Isabella the truth so badly that it killed him inside.
Zelda had her own problems to worry about, anyway. Being the queen of Hyrule wasn’t that easy. For many years, the kingdom was without a queen. Her aunt, Impa, was basically in charge. When Zelda married her love, Link, they took over the throne. Unto them, Isabella had been born. It seemed like the perfect family: the king, the queen, and the little princess.
However, Zelda was very young when she married. At sixteen, she began a secret relationship with Link, a commoner she had known since she was young. They fell in love. Then, one thing led to another and…Well, Isabella happened. After that, the affair couldn’t be held a secret anymore.
Of course, many other events occurred afterwards as well. There was the return of Ganondorf, then the adventure at Tommunock, and so on. The two were the absolute most perfect examples of destiny after they overcame all obstacles with their love and bravery. Link and Zelda married at around the age of nineteen.
Now, it was fifteen years after the fact, and this land called Hyrule was in peace as the king and queen watched over. Though, things were not all perfect at the castle. Isabella grew to become an adventurous young teenager. Most definitely she took after her father. She hated being trapped inside the castle and wanted desperately to venture out and explore the kingdom.
She didn’t know her destiny.
Perhaps if she did, things would be different.
Isabella saw herself as only an audacious, daring soul wedged inside the wrong body. She knew she was meant for much greater things than this…Not that she had it bad, or anything. Isabella couldn’t deny the luxury of being a princess. The make-up, the clothes, and all that money! Everyday she looked her best, and everyone could tell where she had received her extraordinary beauty from: her mother, the radiant Zelda.
Isabella was an incredible sight, indeed. She was definitely all curves, which suited her tiny, petite figure. Her hair was a bright, luminous golden blond, resembling her parents’. The length of the loose curls ended at her back, well layered. She had lovely, full lips that were a natural magenta color and were as soft and supple as a rose petal. Her eyes sparkled an exquisite true, grassy green hue, which brought even more light to her already dazzling features of her face.
Yes, Isabella was more than beautiful…
But that wasn’t exactly a very good thing.
No matter where you will go, all teenagers are the same. Their wonderment of the opposite s*x is very common. All the young men of the land wanted to take Isabella’s hand. Who could blame them? They also wouldn’t mind getting to know her (using Biblical terms). However, this young woman was very wise, like her mother. She pledged to herself a solemn promise. Fornication would just not be acceptable.
Though, that didn’t stop her from wearing the most figure flattering dresses the royal fashion consultant of Hyrule created for her. Isabella surely took after her mother in the way she fully clad herself. She truly enjoyed always looking her best, but she’d give it all up in a single heartbeat to just be able to live a normal life full of adventure, excitement…and perhaps a little romance as well.
Like that would ever happen.
From left and right she was introduced to the upper class boys, all of whom were major snobs who tried to get up her skirts. She just wanted someone to who was not only attracted to her beauty…but saw something much more in her. A man who saw how bold and daring she was and would take her on exploits with him. Just a man who understood her desire to be free and perhaps where pants. But, most of all, Isabella desperately wanted a man who could love her and show it to her in his most affectionate way.
Though…his looks would be a major plus or minus, too.
Was it wrong for her to want a man to satisfy and quench the hunger of her eyes? Isabella could recall the description her mother gave her of how she fell in love with her father. “He was the best-looking man in Hyrule. But, he was also more than that. He treated me like a lady, his most cherished treasure. Material-wise he couldn’t offer me much, but with his kisses…”
This was a mother-daughter talk, most obviously. Zelda, though, claimed that they were married when they further expressed their feelings, and Isabella believed her. She yearned to be married someday and experience the same romance her mother and father still share even to this day.
However…There was so much going on besides that…
Let us begin this interesting tale of the young girl’s first and most memorable adventure.
