Chapter 1: Prologue: A Thousand Leagues Under the Sea!

Author’s note: I know my prologue is a little short, but I didn’t think I should spend much time on it. All I’m doing is informing you of where this fanfic is coming from. If there is anything you don’t understand, please email me at BlueJx23@hotmail.com or just leave a comment about it. I will do my best to fix any confusion in any of my chapters.

PS. thx, Boggy for clearing that up for me. I'm actually new in the whole fanfic area, so for future reference, everyone, I'm a newbie.

Prologue: A thousand leagues under the sea…

There seemed to be no mercy among the godesses in those days, they would not cease their relentless attack of rain upon Hyrule. Hyrule's people were drowning under the power of those they worshiped, and it was, ironically, the only way to save Hyrule. Only a select few were told how to escape the rains and they took refuge in the highest mountains Hyrule had to offer. As many years passed, following “The Great Rains,” people forgot of their homeland, Hyrule. It became lost in the stories told by the elderly, growing less and less credible as people began to add their own little portion to the story, of what they had forgotten.

After many years, the people of Hyrule were reminded of its legacy through the acts of the “Windwaker”. Even though the heroic “Windwaker” wasn’t able to resurface Hyrule, he was able to, with help from the Great Deku Tree and his Koroks, create a new home for Hyruleans. Each island connected to one another and these islands became one. At around the same time, islands from all around the world were growing into countries, and meeting each other to form continents.

Yet once again, time took its toll on Hyrule’s legend, forcing the legend to become less than a myth spoken today by another name. It would seem that time really could erase all, even great legends such as that of Hyrule. Now all that’s left of Hyrule’s true tale, rests as a secret within the royal family. Passed on generation by generation, the royal family was able to keep Hyrule’s legend alive, even if by one family. Unfortunately, all the common people believe that Hyrule was nothing but a video game made-up to entertain and challenge the young and old. Now, a new challenge is arising, a real challenge, and the legendary blade of evil’s bane will be required once more, but it must be obtained before the counterparts get a hold of it…

Koroks Rock says:

ehh... It'll be James' call whether or not this stays up. I really discourage people from "borrowing" from each other, it leads to trouble.

But the story is well told, so I'm putting it up unless James asks me to pull it down.

bluejx23 says:

i only stole his "author's note" idea. if he minds, i'll change that it to something like "author's comment" or I'll just remove it completely. the story is entirely mine, though.

Koroks Rock says:

ah, ok. I was wondering if you were about to plunge into pretensious humor and grandious rhetoric. smile.gif ok then, best of luck!

Boggy says:

Just so you know, the concept of "Author's Notes" is in NO WAY unique to Anime James, nor any author here at Zelda Legends. The use of "Author's Notes" is a widely accepted practice found in most fanfiction communities to provide readers with backstory information, and important announcements regarding the author's story.

All in all, you've "stolen" nothing.

Story-wise, there isn't much, as of yet, for me to comment on, so I'll wait for additional chapters before giving my critique. (I am, however, liking the level/consistency of description.)

Kavi_Darkwolf says:

It's okay so far, but I'll wait until it gets going. Oh, I"m guessing that this might be in modern times?

bluejx23 says:

yep. You'll have to wait until the first chapter is approved. Don't forget I'm new at this, so don't expect anything great. I just want a little critique on how I can expand my writing abilities.
